The final piece in the C.P. Company Inflatables line for 2001 was arguably the most functional of all. The Air-Mattress Parka was highly innovative in its construction and provided an entirely weather resistant long coat design as well as a protective tent and air-mattress suitable for sleeping in dry conditions.
This highly conceptual piece was engineered from bright blue polyurethane with built in structural components, such as the fine nylon mesh tent that could be held in place by an included carbon rod structure. In addition to the air compressor that was provided with all C.P. Company pieces from the Inflatables line, the Air-Mattress Parka also featured a small Mag-Lite torch.
This iconic piece was one of the last produced throughout Moreno Ferrari's highly inventive tenure as C.P. Company's Creative Director and his legacy has stood the test of time; many of his Transformable designs are central to C.P. Company's vast archive and continue to inspire its current design team in the development of the brand's current collections.
