Following Moreno Ferrari's pre-eminent reign as C.P. Company's Creative Director, Alessandro Pungetti took over the helm in 2001. Pungetti set out with the mantra "everything begins with the fabric", stating that raw materials are always his inspiration. With this in mind, he took C.P. Company in a new creative direction throughout the early 2000's by deviating from the highly conceptual route the brand took under Ferrari's guidance.
While technical innovation remained paramount to the brand's philosophy, it became most evident in the materials used; as a result, fabrics developed throughout his collections became more tactile and adaptable. To reflect this, C.P. Company created a subtle, yet highly successful, advertising campaign involving renowned actor and director Gabriel Byrne.
His role as a model within the 2006 campaign appropriately demonstrated the brand's refined aesthetic throughout that period and the campaign's presence throughout British publications was a signal of the brand's intent to expand its reach throughout the UK during the years that have followed.
