The Anorak is a water-resistant, hooded jacket that was first designed by the Caribou Inuit living in the Canadian arctic. Originally made from caribou or seal skins coated in fish oil, as a pull-over jacket, this classic archetype has been around in lighter weight fabrics with a zipper front since the 1950s
The Anorak by Ten c is one of 2 less military inspired pieces. Based on a 1960s Canadian anorak from Paul Harvey۪'s archive this simple jacket features front zip fastening, an adjustable hood, 2 front pockets, and a stow pocket on the back as can be found on Canadian hunting and shooting jackets of the time.
This jacket is an evolution of an uncomplicated design, the pockets are all perfectly positioned and the hood is ideally shaped, providing versatility in summer conditions when cold or wet, and winter conditions when filled out with a matching Ten c quilted lining. The anorak can also have a Ten c felted wool hood liner attached in to provide further protection from more aggressive winter conditions.
